Bronx Equestrian Center

The Bronx Equestrian Center is a full service equestrian facility located in Pelham Bay Park. Western and English styles of riding are available for all levels of experience and interest.
The Center offers trail rides, lessons, and pony rides. Ponies are available for hire, and can be transported to other city locations for birthday parties and fund raisers.
The Center has a summer riding program and a year-round Saturday morning program (weather permitting) from 9:30am to 12:30pm for kids ages seven to 16. The program includes a riding lesson and/or trail ride and a grooming class, and kids learn basic horse care.
A party room is also available for birthday parties at the stable.
Discount group rates and barn tours are available, as are hayrides.
Trail riders have to be at least 4-1/2 feet tall, and if they are under 18 they must be accompanied by an adult.

Discount books are available - ten half hour lessons cost $350; ten one hour lessons cost $600 (paid in advance).
getting there:
Located in Pelham Bay Park, just near City Island. By subway: 6 train (to the last stop) and then the 29 Bus to City Island. The Center recommends telling the driver to let you off by the stable.
