about Brook Run Park:

Brook Run Park is a 102-acre park on North Peachtree Road, and is one of the newest parks in the Dekalb County system. The park is easy to navigate, as paved sidewalks line and loop the entire park (for sweet stroller navigation) and each play area has signs designating its age-appropriateness, keeping little ones safely together and older kids where they can best enjoy the facilities. The play area surfaces are ground rubber, and small picnic pavilions dot the perimeter. Toddlers can enjoy a sand play area near the play structure for young kids, which incidentally, includes playable wind chimes. Other playground equipment is bright, colorful, and varied, and spread out enough that too many kids don't seem to converge in the same area at once. The most unique feature here is a Children's Adventure Area, designed to simulate the most common land types in Georgia - mountain, forest, and meadow. It's more rustic than elaborate, but the kids love it. A stream runs through the playground area seasonally, so splashing clothes are most certainly in order during the warmer months. Bathrooms have changing tables, and there is adequate parking. A cooperatively managed community theater venue is adjacent to the park.
