The
Blue Hills Reservation is the backdrop for scenic
Brookwood Farm. The 70-acre site, once a working farm dating back to the 17th century, is a great spot to pursue non-urban pleasures. The last owner of the property willed it to the DCR in 1994. It was his hope that it would one day be the site of the governor's mansion.
Some of the many things to do on the farm include walking and hiking, bird watching, participating in special events sponsored by the
Department of Conservation and Recreation, maple sugaring, and picnicking.
