Buca di Beppo is a place where you don't have to worry about the kids creating a disturbance - no one could possibly hear them.
This restaurant uses humor like a sledge hammer. "Have you ever been here before?" our waiter asked us. He looked positively gleeful when we said "no," and delivered the restaurant's punchline: Those huge plates of food we could see being ferried to neighboring tables were considered "small" servings.
The operative word here is "generous," even "enormous." Salads and pastas come heaped so high you wonder how much dropped in the kitchen on the way out to the table. The meatball on top of our mountain of spaghetti was so huge it threatened to set off an avalanche of noodles. There is a kid's menu, with slightly smaller portions of several pasta and pizza dishes.
