The term "family style dining" was created for restaurants like Buca di Beppo. With huge portions, a loud and colorful atmosphere, and friendly staff, it truly reflects the food- and family-loving spirit of Italy. Food is meant to be shared and is served on family style platters designed for passing around the table. Choose from the Buca Small, created to serve two people, or the Buca Large that serves four or more. No matter the size, plan to take some leftovers home if you sample more than a few dishes! The side dishes and appetizers are delicious - and again, portions are huge - but don't get sidetracked or you won't have any room left to choose from the baked pastas, fettuccines, spaghettis, raviolis, pennes, and other great entrees - like the veal limone and eggplant parmigiana. If you can make it that far, desserts share the same traits as everything else on the menu - they're huge and tasty. This really is a great place for families. The decor is entertaining, the service is good, and there's more than enough to eat. Even the bathrooms have personality; you'll frequently see members of the opposite gender trying to sneak a peek into "the other" restroom to see what the fuss in decorating is about. Kids' menu items and high chairs are available. Reservations are accepted and recommended; it's wise to call ahead.
