about Burton Public Library:

The Burton Public Library hosts a wide variety of children's events, from its annual chess tournament to programs featuring live animals - making it a favorite with parents and kids looking for a little free entertainment (and education!).

The independent library affiliated with Clevnet and situated on the west side of the village square is housed in a picturesque historic brick building with a reading garden in front.

The children's room is bright, with a large mural of clouds in a blue sky and a dragon carpet on the floor. Kids can visit Sparky, the pet gecko, as they enter the room. Puzzles, puppets, flash cards, computer games, LeapPads, author kits and audio books are available for loan in addition to books, videos, and DVDs. Also in the room, a special 'partners in reading' collection is well-used by parents and teachers.

Children's programs serve kids of all ages and include storytimes held weekly for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Monthly after school programs are held for elementary students. Popular programs include the annual Weird Science and Young Artists programs, Summer Reader's Club, and Christmas Hearth Make'N Take crafts.

The Young Adult section contains books, magazines, and graphic novels for teen readers.

Dial-a-Story is a phone line dedicated to a story of interest to all ages and changes every week. When you dial 440.834.0707, someone else will read to you!

Friends of the Burton Public Library hold monthly booksales.
