About Cabrillo Beach
Cabrillo Beach is a partly sandy, partly rocky beach offering boat rentals, a boat launch, and bicycle rentals.
Diving, swimming, surfing, picnicking, barbecue pits, volleyball, a playground, and tidepooling make this a family-friendly beach spot. Its close proximity to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is also a plus.
A lifeguard is on duty during daylight hours.
Bathrooms, showers, food concessions, and a bait & tackle shop are available, too.

- I love this beach. You dont have to hike through miles of sand, beach is close to parking, picnic grassy area and marine aquarium all centrally located, no need to drive to different areas. I think it's great with young children and especially easy to keep a close eye on kids as beach is small. grass, sand, water, inexspensive museum, tidepools, and great parking all in one!

[Submitted by momsrchin4famfun - Cabrillo is a beach that has it all--a play area, a mothers beach, boat launchings, tide pools and practically free museum. Unfortunately, all of its charm is overwhelmed by the crowds it attracts. The tidepools, while interesting and beautiful, were filled with as many beer bottles and styrofoam cups as critters. One of Cabrillo's best assets is the bi-monthly grunion run but don't forget to park outside of the beach and walk down the hill or face having your car ticketed or even impounded. In the end, this is a fun day outing, especially for families with little ones or a wide range of ages (mom's with teens and toddlers) as there is soemthing for everyone here.
