Edie Connolly's cakes are true works of art, and well worth a detour from your usual path.

The shop is not a bakery, and special orders and appointments are necessary - Edie has a space carved out where you can peruse her portfolio for ideas. Slumber party Barbies, fire engines, ski slopes, or your child's artwork, favorite book, or photo can all be transformed into edible delight.

If you're looking for a goodie bag alternative, consider having some photo cookies or cupcakes made up with the birthday child's picture on each one.

Two weeks' notice is preferred, but photo cakes can be made in two days. Cakes 'n Shapes is a kosher certified and nut free bakery.
