The Cambridge Family YMCA offers a variety of services to members of the community.
Cambridge Family YMCA Preschool for preschool children (ages 2.9 to 5): A safe, nurturing environment where children can learn and grow. The day includes breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack, plus several specialty programs like a monthly nutrition program, weekly exercise program, bi-weekly music lessons, and weekly swimming lessons.
Fee: half-day sessions $500/month/child; full-time sessions $895/month/child. Hours: Mon-Fri 7:30am-5:45pm.
Cambridge YMCA After School (ages 4.7-13 years): Fully licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, the program offers enrichment and educational activities including movement, dance, yoga, karate, photography, drama, sports, arts and crafts, homework help, and swimming lessons. The YMCA After School also provides lessons in character development in a fun and safe environment.
Fee: $400/month/child; $90/daily/child. Vouchers accepted and financial assistance available. Call Scott Blumsack [617.661.9622 ext. 705] for additional information.
Summer Vacation Program (ages 4.7-13 years):Provides structured, fun-filled activities and outings to local parks and pools, as well as weekly field trips to museums, movies, beaches, and other exciting locations in the Boston/Cambridge area. Planned activities include bi-weekly swim lessons, arts and crafts projects, computer learning games, structured sports and gym games, yoga, photography, karate, soccer, and dance.
Fees: Regular day (8am-4pm) $225/child; Extended day (8am-5:30pm) $250/child.Vouchers accepted and financial assistance available. Contact Scott Blumsack [617.661.9622 ext. 705; sblumsack@cambymca.org] for additional information.
Sports: Organized sports include special one-day sports clinics, basketball leagues, swim team, fencing, capoeira and youth/teen yoga; fitness/wellness prenatal yoga, Baby & Me, stretch & grow, preschool soccer, swim lessons (6 months and up), and Capoeira (4 yrs and up).
Swimming lessons are available to children 6 months of age and older.
Individual & Family Membership available. Youth membership is $25.
