Cambridgeport Children's Center offers a developmentally based child care program. They provide children with a clear and consistent structure and encourage them to make responsible choices. The program focuses on building self-esteem and respect for others. The Center is run cooperatively by staff and parents to ensure close communications and the building of understanding between all the adults playing major roles in students' lives.
The program stresses multicultural awareness, respect for differences, and the value of all human beings. State subsidies for 45% of families allow for economic diversity.
Child/Teacher Ratio: Toddler 4:1; Preschooler 6:1. The center also has seven work-study positions, one foster grandparent and one student teacher.
