At the
Camden Children's Garden, kids and those young at heart can explore and discover the wonder of plants and flowers.
The four-acre interactive Garden includes a Railroad Garden, a Dinosaur Garden, a Maze, a Picnic Garden, a Treehouse, an amphitheater, Storybook Gardens (these include the
Three Little Pigs Garden, the Giant's Garden from
Jack and the Beanstalk, the
Secret Garden, the
Frog Prince Grotto, and
Alice in Wonderland's Garden), the Plaza de Aibonito Tropical exhibit, the Philadelphia Eagles Four Seasons Butterfly House, and the new Benjamin Franklin Exhibit. Red Oak Run, an underground maze representing the subterranean life of burrowing animals, gives kids the the feeling of tunneling underground and includes a small tot slide.
Visitors can round out their visit by riding on the Commerce
Carousel - themed especially for the garden. Kids also enjoy the ArrowRiver
train ride, which runs through a miniature landscape and four levels of G-scale trains. The new Spring Butterfly ride is great for taller and older visitors.
Bathrooms are readily available and have diaper-changing facilities. Snacks and drinks are available inside Ginkgo's Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome to
bring a picnic lunch and eat at one of the many Garden stops and benches.
The garden is located directly next to the
Adventure Aquarium; a discount ticket (for $2.50) is available if you show your Aquarium ticket stub. So combine the trip and, if possible, include the ferry ride over from Penn's Landing to top off the day.
