about Campus Martius Park:

This two-acre urban park is one of the best things that has happened to Detroit in years. Located in the heart of downtown, its open green spaces, cafe, fountain, and ice skating rink make it a wonderful place for families to gather.

tips:

Looking for an activity to pair with a park visit, hop on the nearby People Mover at the Cadillac station, and give your children a tour of the art at each station.

Calling all elves! This is an elf Invasion at the Annual Detroit Tree Lighting on November 18 from 7-9pm. Elves will be on-site distributing free posters and promotional items, while supplies last. Dress up as an elf yourself! Plus, be sure to check out the ice-rink, which will be decorated ARTHUR CHRISTMAS style! Click here to find out more about the 12 days of fun family events nationwide leading to the release of ARTHUR CHRISTMAS, the new 3D CG-animated family comedy in theaters November 23, 2011.

getting there:

Located between Fort Street and Michigan Avenue. Parking garages are a-plenty in the area, but the best bet is the HDS Garage at the Compuware Building ($5 weekdays after 5pm and weekends).
