Capital University Community Music School, founded in conjunction with the University?s Conservatory of Music, offers private instrumental and vocal instruction, a piano pedagogy student intern teaching program, instrumental and choral ensembles, and dance classes. The Suzuki program offers instruction in piano, violin, and cello, and sponsors a week-long Institute each June which includes teacher training. The School offers the Columbus Youth Choirs, with three choirs for children from second grade through high school; a Chamber Strings Orchestra; Junior Winds; and the Columbus Youth Symphonic Band. For infants through preschool age children the School offers HeartStrings, a Kodály-based music and movement class.
