The architects responsible for the design of
Centennial Hills Park's
picnic pavilions and playgrounds won awards in 2003 for their vision, and we can see why.
The pavilions mimic the palm trees that are interwoven into the structure, and the playground - well, can it get more creative than giant yellow shade flowers and red toadstool picnic tables?
An
interactive water-play area, playgrounds, a fenced dog park, multiple volleyball courts, two soccer fields - combined, they create a
multi-use park that suits just about anyone's recreational needs. A popular
farmers' market is held here weekly too.
Centennial Hills YMCA opened in the summer of 2007 and features indoor and outdoor swimming pools, two gymnasiums, a dance room, fitness center, an active adult wing, and space for a variety of multi-generational activities. Phase 3 of the park's development is scheduled to be completed in late summer 2008.
