The University of Nevada-Las Vegas takes great pride in its Center for the Performing Arts, a complex that features the Judy Bayley Theatre, the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall, and the Alta Ham Fine Arts Complex. It also houses smaller venues for rehearsals and intimate recitals, as well as a music listening center.
The Barrick Lecture Series is a big draw for Las Vegans; the past roster has included John Irving, Ken Burns, Doris Kearns Goodwin, and Bob Woodward. Family shows are a big hit too: The theater often hosts performances from groups such as Sesame Street Live, Theatreworks USA, and American Theatre Arts for Youth.
