About Central Library

Instantly recognizable with its impressive parking garage adorned with book spines, Kansas City Public Library's Central Library is a peaceful haven in downtown. The library features a newly created Children's Library on the second floor, a cafe, and an outdoor rooftop terrace perfect for sunny, spring reading.

The library also hosts numerous events, including films shown in the Stanley H. Durwood Film Vault, a 1925 bank vault that seats about 30 people.
