The "crown jewel" of Winter Park outdoor locations, the 11-acre Central Park is located in the center of the downtown shopping district.

The beautiful and well-kept park plays host to numerous special events throughout the year, including the Sidewalk Art Festival, 4th of July Celebration, and plenty of parades. One of the most popular events in the Popcorn Flicks in Central Park. The ongoing event features classic films that start at sunset on the second Thursday of each month and hundreds of people gather for the free showing and, of course, free popcorn.

The ornate fountains, numerous planters, colorful flowers, and Winter Park's famous oak tree canopy all add to the park's beauty. A Rose Garden is located on the southern edge of the park.

The park has no playground, but plenty of families set up shop on blankets while children chase the huge population of squirrels that have almost taken over the area.

If little ones get bored, just jump across the street to shop in any number of Park Avenue stores.
