Central Park is a pleasant place to take a break from shopping and dining in Old Town Pasadena, two blocks to the north. Shade trees abound, and kids can enjoy the small playground and mosaic maze in the northwest corner.
The historic Castle Green building, dating to 1898, stands watch over the park at the north end. The park is across the street (to the west) from MetroRail's Del Mar Station, which services the Gold Line. Art fairs and music festivals are held in the park throughout the year.

tips:
The bathrooms are at the opposite end of the park from the playground; plan accordingly.
getting there:
Take the Fair Oaks Avenue exit off the 210 Freeway, and head south, through the intersection with Colorado. The park is on the east side of Fair Oaks, one block south of Green Street. Parking is available at meters on Raymond or Fair Oaks, and in lots on Green Street for about $3.
