Started in 1930,
Chagrin Valley Little Theatre has grown and polished its act. Local, Shakespearean, youth productions, and a variety of other performances keep the theater's calendar quite full.
The small but ample theater building, designed by the architect of
Cleveland Play House and
Karamu Theatre, boasts professional lighting and sound systems.
Chagrin Valley Little Theatre encourages children and young people in acting, and has since the 1950s establishment of the Chagrin Valley
Youth Theater.
Programs are offered for children from
ages eight to 18 and are focused on teaching acting skills through exercises, games and improvisation.
Classes are held beginning each January and September, and
summer day camps are offered each year. Beyond the fundamentals of acting, children with more experience in being on the stage can take advanced classes to help them advance their skills to the next level.
