Established in 1982, Chester County Book and Music Company is one of the largest independently owned bookstores in the US.
The West Chester store stocks approximately 250,000 book titles as well as 2,600 magazines and periodicals. Its music department offers over 20,000 recordings in various genres including pop, rock, rap, R&B, classical, jazz, blues, country, and world music. The music area also stocks a wide selection of box sets and specialty import titles. The store's DVD inventory includes 2,000 movie and music titles, as well as such specialty items as foreign, anime, and alternative lifestyle titles. The store's acclaimed children's department features both books and plush toys.
Food and beverages are available at the in-store Magnolia Grill, restaurant that features a complete menu of New Orleans and Cajun specialty dishes, sandwiches, omelets, coffees, teas, espresso, and soft drinks.
