The Chicago Botanic Garden is actually 23 gardens in one!
Our little ones are partial to the Waterfall Garden, with its 45-foot waterfall that cascades down a hillside into a series of small pools, but they're equally happy to explore the English Walled Garden, and the Rose Garden, depending on the season.
The three natural habitat areas (woodland, prairie, and riverscape) offer nice walking trails.
The Grand Tram Tour runs May through October, daily, from 10am-3:30pm, every 30 minutes (subject to change due to weather). Additional trams run on weekends and holidays.
For one of the nicest summer evening views around, as the sun sets, watch the stunning lighting display on the Evening Island.
The Garden offers a summer camping experience for children ages two to 12, Monday through Friday, from mid-June through mid-August (no camp during the week of July 4). For more information, including current dates, camp availability, and pricing, call 847.835.6950.
Family Memberships are available. See website for details.
