There's more to do at the Chicago Children's Museum than can fit in one visit! Some favorite permanent exhibits include:
Dinosaur Expedition re-creates the site of the 1997 expedition to the Sahara that unearthed Suchomimus, a never-before found species of fish-eating dinosaur, on display at CCM. With real-life expedition activities - including an authentic excavation pit - kids can learn first-hand what it's like to be a member of the expedition team.
Waterways: Kids discover the wonders of the Earth's most abundant resource through an interactive system of pulleys, pumps, wheels and pipes that demonstrate the power of water.
Big Backyard: Kids of all ages can immerse themselves in a wondrous, oversized urban garden, filled with enormous insects, giggling flowers, giant toadstools and other fantasy creations.
Inventing Lab: Gadgets and gizmos inspire young minds to invent some amazing things! Kids get to learn about inventions and kooky creations, go down a musical slide, and invent flying machines.
Birthday Parties: Art activities, add-ons and party packages allow parents to tailor just the right party at Chicago Children's Museum. Guests celebrate in a private party room and enjoy all-day admission to explore the museum.
First Free Monday offers free admission for ages 15 and under and extended hours (10am-8pm) on the first Monday of each month. Thursday Family Free Night offers free admission each Thursday evening from 5:30pm-8pm.
