In addition to its theatrical season, the Chicago Kids Company offers a number of opportunities for children to participate in theatrical experiences.

The eight-week theater program for children ages eight to 14, offered seasonally, is called Putting on a Play. Kids practice acting, singing, and dancing as they rehearse for a final full-scale production. No experience necessary! This class is usually offered on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 8pm at the company's location with free and easy parking and a waiting room for Mom and Dad.

Birthday parties can be thrown at the company's shows, and can include a pre-show sit-down (you bring cake, ice cream, pizza and more), the show itself, and then a Question & Answer session with the cast or a special backstage tour! The birthday child's name is also announced after the performance, and the entire cast sings Happy Birthday. Available only at certain locations.

CKC also offers a two-week summer day camp for children ages eight to 14 during the month of July. Summer Camp is held on weekdays only (from 10am-3pm). The camp covers every aspect of putting on a show, including acting, singing and dancing lessons, costume, set, and prop design, play practice, theatre games, and improvisation. Camp concludes with a full-scale performance, featuring the campers!
