Chicago Kids Company is a non-profit, professional theatre company dedicated to introducing children to the magic of live theatre.
Productions are musical adaptations of fairy tales, geared for children ages two to 12 and their families. The shows feature professional actors, up-to-date references, colorful sets and costumes, sing-along songs and lots of audience participation. After the show, everyone is invited to meet the cast and take photos with their favorite characters.
Performances can be seen at four different theaters around the city and suburbs:
The Beverly Arts Center, the
Stahl Family Theater, the
Copernicus Center, and the
Wilmette Theater.
The
Performing Arts Academy offers eight-week class sessions throughout the school year(for kids ages three to ten) and a two-week
Summer Musical Theatre Camp (for kids ages ten to 15). The curriculum is designed to reach all areas of theatre, including movement, acting, singing, dancing, and improv. Each class ends with a final presentation, recital, or performance. Under the supervision of the company founders, all classes are taught by Chicago theatre professionals.
