About Children's Museum in Easton
The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best Little Kids' Museum in Boston, the Children's Museum in Easton (CME) is an educational, cultural, and social learning center for children and families. Located in a historic Old Fire Station, the museum has three floors of interactive exhibits and over 100 programs that allow kids to explore the world around them.
The museum's newest addition, The Wild Place, is an outdoor area where kids can take part in activities that focus on wildlife, the environment, and gardening, as well enjoy some unstructured, outdoor play time. A dinosaur garden filled with fossils, an African Garden where Rising feels at home, and a butterfly and bird observation area are just a few of the surprises that await young visitors and their adults!
Birthday parties can be held during museum hours or after hours. Visit the website for more information.
Summer mini-camps are open to children ages three to eight, with a flexible schedule that allows parents to choose from four 2-week sessions.

- Cute little museum in an old firehouse, although I feel kind of expensive for what you get. It is really geared toward children no older than 7. Adults have to pay $6 to enter as well. I don't understand that as there is nothing an adult can do to enjoy oneself like at the aquarium or another family activity. There are 3 floors, the top floor seems to be the most fun with dressing in fireman gear, playing postman, playing in the cooking section, coloring in the arts and crafts area and playing in the Dr.'s office. The downstairs area has dress up, puppet area, a train, a fireman pole, lots of fun for small children. The basement area is interesting with building materials and educational engineering type things. The place is a bit OLD and needs to be updated and toys need to be cleaned and/or replaced! Also, nobody seems to be actually monitoring anything there. Ex: The arts and crafts area clearly ran out of paper and supplies and nobody was there to replace them or even help the children with their crafts. Parents do all the work, so why should they pay to get in? Nice to go if you have nothing better to do and are close by, but you are much better off planning as visit to the Providence Childrens Museum which is only $1.50 more per person and you get so much more. Also, the Providence Childrens Museum offers free passes from the library. The Easton Childrens Museum used to offer free entrance passes at the library but now they are only half off.

The tool shop is a unique exhibit where the kids can use real hammers and nails. My 4 year old is learning to use a hammer because of this space. The Wild Place is amazing and we haven't visited another museum that has such an outdoor space! A must see! The other reviewer is correct though - leave your stroller in the car or outside.
