Located in the Arts District of downtown Portland, the Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine offers interactive exhibits and activities for children and families. Our Town features a lobster boat, an interactive supermarket, a vet clinic, a fire truck, a farm, a car repair shop, and a soft gated play-and-learn area for toddlers. The Big Gallery features a series of rotating exhibits exploring topics from marine life to physics to art.

On the Explore Floor, interactive science exhibits depict the natural resources of the state of Maine. Exhibits include a Ranger Station, climbing wall, miniature planetarium, Tide Pool Touch Tank and lumber mill. We Are Maine celebrates the diverse global heritage of the Maine community.

The Museum & Theatre offers daily programming with emphasis on the arts, science, and multicultural topics. And don't miss the Camera Obscura, which delivers unbelievable panoramic views of the city of Portland and Casco Bay. During the warm months, the Museum & Theatre's Shipyard is a great place to have lunch while sailing a pirate ship into port.
