If the fragrant aromas of freshly baked bread, hot chicken soup, and savory beef brisket don't cause you to salivate like Pavlov's dog, don't bother coming to Chompie's. Home of the jumbo Mile High Sandwich, Chompie's is much more than a neighborhood Jewish deli. Established in 1979 by the Borenstein family from Queens, New York City, the restaurant's three locations serve as wholesale and retail bakeries and bagel shops, retail deli counters, in-demand catering facilities, and sit down eateries popular with Valley families for over two decades. The bustling atmosphere, affordable prices and endless menu choices provide a perfect casual dining experience for hungry families. The breakfast menu is served all day, featuring such specialties as cheese blintzes with applesauce, sour cream, and fresh fruit and the Chomp-a-Dilla, a massive breakfast burrito containing scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, cheddar, tomatoes, onions, and scallions, served with salsa and home fries. There's also a Biltmore Benedict, Granny Girl Country Skillet, Bobka Crumb French Toast - really, the selections go on and on. An assortment of smoked fish is flown in fresh (never frozen) from the east coast, and the bakery offers up to 35 varieties of hot bagels and bialys for eat-in or takeout. Lunch and dinner choices also abound. The enormous deli sandwiches are available in a variety of bread and filling choices and include potato salad or coleslaw. Home cooked corned beef and cabbage, 100% pure Angus beef steaks and burgers, roasted chicken and braised brisket - you get the idea. All entrees include a choice of side dishes and are served in generous portions, perfect for sharing. The kids' menu follows suit with an incredible 13 selections, ranging from Challah French Toast Sticks to macaroni and cheese with fresh fruit salad. Kids eat free every Tuesday after 4pm with an adult meal purchase. Little ones receive crayons and activity placemats upon seating, and high chairs and booster seats are readily available.
