The 3,600-seat theater hosts an impressive array of world-class Broadway, theater, music, dance, opera, and film.
The Center's community outreach efforts include community gospel events and multicultural showcases and has given millions of dollars in grants as well as reduced-rent rehearsal and performance space to organizations including Boston Ballet, Boston Lyric Opera, and World Music.
The Center offers a
family program, Artropolis. A four-show Family Membership package offers discounted tickets; discussions with the cast and crew; pre-performance receptions; performance guides; and advance notice of free workshops and master classes offered by The Citi Performing Arts Center's education department, Suskind Young At Arts.
Celebrate Shakespeare Summer Workshops: The Celebrate Shakespeare program is a series of free acting workshops in the communities of Cambridge, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, and the South End, presented by Citi Performing Arts Center. Through performing art skills such as theater games, stage combat, ensemble building, and original scene development, participants ages 10 to 13 become familiar with a Shakespeare play and its universal themes.
