City & Country has been a well-known and respected "neighborhood" institution within Greenwich Village since the 1920s.
Applications for admission should be made in the fall for enrollment the following September. Tours, conducted by the Director of Admissions, are scheduled beginning in October and run through the school year as needed, anywhere from two to ten times each week.
The school offers an Extended Services program for IIIs through VIIs that runs until 5:45pm daily, for an additional fee. This program gives kids a chance to get to know children from other groups and to use some new materials. Arts and crafts, board games, manipulatives, and cooking projects are some of the Extended Services activities, as well as an extra outdoor yard time.
Afterschool is an optional program for VIIIs through XIIIs. Children are asked to sign themselves up for the 40-minute sessions of their choice and can choose from art, science, computer, library or shop. The program is also offered until 5:30pm, for an additional fee.
City & Country runs a six-week summer daycamp for IIIs through VIIs with blockbuilding, arts and crafts, music and woodworking. Facilities include wading pools, sprinklers and the use of two swimming pools.
