City & Country School554

My daughter, age 7, will start C&C in the fall. I went there from the V's through graduation and remember it very fondly. It is only through having a child myself, and sending her to the local public school for preK, K, and 1st grade, that I realize, looking back, just how wonderful and unique C&C is.

I went to City and Country School when I was 5 years old and stayed until I graduated. I don't think that there will ever be a better time in my entire life. At the school I met some really amazing people, whether it be the students, teachers, parents or even custodians. I can't describe how happy I was at that school and I know that students who had gone to that school from an early age also enjoyed it. It gave me the work ethic to succeed in high school academically (High Honor Roll all 4 marking quarters) and the skills to interact socially, as I have been able to meet many friends. The school was also great in how they were able to get kids to thrive academically, without giving out grades or handing out detentions to kids who were late. There, no one cut class, and I know you must think its just middle school, but there they don't stress attendance. The most important thing is learning, and learning in a fun way that allows the recipient of the information to apply it to the real world. I can tell you about how great these things are as I now attend a public school, where half the kids cut and fail lots of classes. In conclusion, I believe that City and Country is one of the greatest schools ever. And if you are ever considering schools, think about this quote that my 8th grade and best teacher told me, "You can learn what kids learned at other schools in 6 months, but those kids would need a century to attain all that you have at this school."

I graduated from C&C and then sent my daughter, who also graduated last year. There are many alumni who send their children to C&C, and I have even met students and alumni whose grandparents attended. It is a very special place. It is the absolute best school in the world.

now our daghter is in high school we see that City a country gave her the self confidense even with her unusual backround. it has given her a love of learning, and the skills to do so. even at her demanding high school the only academic problem has been late project because of the deatail and accuracy she strives for. AShe rememberes everything she has been taught, because there is always and interesting, vivid and fun memory attached to it. thte besyt by far for anyone looking at progresive education.
