About City Park
The 1,300-acre City Park, one of the country's oldest and largest urban parks, encompasses a wide variety of museums, children's attractions, sports activities, and recreational opportunities.
Attractions include:
The Carousel Gardens Amusement Park (Fri-Sun, weather permitting), which has a lovely antique carousel ($3 entry fee; $2-$4 ride), Rockin' Tug, Bumper Cars, Red Baron mini-plane, Scrambler, Tilt-A-Whirl, a 40-foot fun slide, Umbrella cars, a Construction Zone, the Live Oak Lady Bug roller coaster, a ferris wheel, and a miniature train ride that tours the park. The carousel and/or the entire park can be rented out for birthday parties;
The Botanical Garden (Tue-Sun), which hosts twilight concerts on Thursday evenings from March to October;
A golf driving range;
Storyland (open weekends), which is home to Captain Hook?s pirate ship, Pinocchio's whale, and Jack & Jill's Hill - along with 22 more larger-than-life storybook exhibits;
Tennis courts;
The Equest Farm Equestrian Center;
and the New Orleans Museum of Art and NOMA's Besthoff Sculpture Garden (Wed-Sun).
Birthday party packages are available for the Amusement Park, Storyland, and the Train Garden (Botanical Garden). Field trips are also offered.

- Beautiful park, nostalgic amusement park area with a historic carousel, great bumper cars, train that tours the park, etc. Terrific birthday party spot. Loved by kids and grown ups alike!
