About Cleveland Browns Stadium
In 1997, a new Cleveland Browns Stadium rose on the site of the original Municipal Stadium. While the new stadium is smaller than the original, it seats about 73,000, and sits on more than 30 acres of lakefront real estate. It also boasts modern (comfortable) seating and other conveniences - including four family restrooms on each of the three floors - and many other nice updates.
While attending a Brown's game is a thrill for young football fans, Cleveland Browns Stadium isn't what we'd consider a family venue. It was built for NFL players to play NFL football, and for NFL fans to watch. And drink. And swear. Inevitably, some families attending the games leave angry about other fans' behavior "in front of our kids." We recommend either leaving the kids at home, waiting until they're old enough to feel safe in the excitement of a frenzied game crowd, or at least, not complaining about the behavior that's quite expected in an NFL stadium.
That said, families will go. Here's what you should know:
Strollers are not permitted in the stadium, and the stadium is a non-smoking facility. Coolers, ice chests, and thermoses are also not allowed in the stadium.
It's a big place, and the Guest Services folks (wearing yellow vests) have practice dealing with lost children. To put your mind at ease, you can pick up a child ID bracelet from any member of guest services (and hope you don't need it!).
The Ticket Office, located on the south side of the Stadium, is open on game days from 9am through the end of the day's game. Regular business hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Questions for the Ticket Office can be called in to 440.891.5050.
Cleveland Browns Stadium's amenities include: Numerous concessions and ATM stations, a team logo shop, the shopping/entertainment complex dubbed "Brownstown," and the Cleveland Browns Hall of Fame, featuring the history of one of the most storied teams in the NFL.
For football-lovin' families, there are other options that can be fun for (almost) all ages: Stadium tours are offered between April and December. (To arrange a tour, call 440.824.3361 or contact tours@clevelandbrowns.com. Also, the Browns host at least one Family Day (or Family Night) game each season. typically, several high school games are played in the stadium in the early fall. We recommend checking the Brown's website for the current schedule or special events.
Getting There
