Based on proficiency scores in 2005, the
Cleveland Municipal School District was the most improved district in Ohio, and one of the most improved in the nation. The district is comprised of 17 high schools and career centers and 86 elementary and middle schools. Among those, 19 special programs and schools serve diverse student populations, including the Early Childhood Development Center and Tremont Montessori for pre-K though grade 8; the Health Careers Center, a Career and Technology Magnet High School;
Cleveland School for the Arts; and the High Tech Academy. Many individual schools have their own websites, which are linked to the district's home page.
