Located 20 minutes south of Atlanta in Fairburn, the Cochran Mill Nature Center features a sizable collection of resident education animals, as well as transient animals passing through as part of its wildlife rehabilitation program. The center's log structure is located by a pond on fifty privately-owned, heavily-wooded acres.
CMNC's environmental education programs are designed to enhance classroom curriculum through hands-on discovery and exploration of the natural world. Program themes include wildlife education, nature hikes, ecology, and environmental games. Summer camps and scout programs are available for young children through teens.
Birthdays: Have you ever partied with an alligator, python, or one-eyed hawk? Nature Birthday Parties at CMNC make it happen for kids turning ages four to 12. Up to 15 children can have a naturalist-led party with an up-close-and-personal educational experience with animals, as well as party favors. Call for more details.
