Coldwater Canyon Park's vista includes chaparral-covered canyons and panoramic views of the San Fernando Valley. Hiking trails abound in the 45-acre park, which is also home to the environmental nonprofit organization TreePeople.
The park's S Mark Taper Foundation Amphitheatre often hosts family-friendly events. Other programs include seasonal full moon hikes and eco-tours for school groups.

getting there:
From the 405 north, exit Skirball Center/Mulholland Drive.
Turn left off the exit ramp. Take the first right onto Mulholland Drive. Continue on Mulholland through five traffic lights: Casiano, Roscomare, Beverly Glen , Benedict Canyon and Deep Canyon. At the sixth traffic light, at the intersection of Coldwater Canyon, Franklin Canyon and Mulholland, take a slight right and proceed into the temporary parking lot. If the lot is full, proceed down Franklin Canyon Drive and park on the street. Once parked, take the crosswalk across Coldwater Canyon Avenue.
