The promos for the
College Basketball Experience say, "
You will sweat," and they aren't kidding. Upon entering the facility adjacent to the
Sprint Center, visitors immediately jump in with an authentic college basketball experience. A tunnel simulates the walk players make from the locker room to the court - complete with huge pictures of players, coaches, fans, bands, and cheerleaders along with a near-deafening roar. From then on it's all hoops, baby. The Experience has a full basketball court and a three-on-three street ball court. It also has an amazing number of
basketball drills, set up in individual venues. These include two different free throw drills (one simulates a hostile arena with moving rabid fans in the background), a three point drill, beat the clock, a
slam dunk court with six baskets ranging in height, a passing drill, and more. Since the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame is within the
Basketball Experience, the museum would not be complete without
tips from well-known college coaches, an impressive looking mentor's circle that pays homage to prominent coach's mentors, a coaching tree database, and the actual Hall of Fame where visitors can view videos about inductees. The
College Basketball Experience is geared toward basketball fans and players, but there is a
kid's court for little ones and a scavenger hunt available from the front desk for occupying the non-players in your group. Annual and semi-annual passes are available, and the facility can be rented out to private groups.
