Color Me Mine254

This review is based soley on the customer service I recieved while inquiring about the establishment and what it had to offer. I was with my 1 year old and 3 year old, pushing a stroller. I wanted to do a project with my kids hand prints for my mother's birthday. I came into the store on October 21st at approximately 3:30pm. I walked in (struggling with the stroller and the glass (see through) door while 2 people watched me. There were only 2 people in the store, a woman behind the counter and a woman holding a purse whom I thought was a customer. Once I got into the store, I was asked by the woman with the purse if she could help me. I looked around curious, because it was as if I was disturbing or interupting them. I said "oh are you not open?". The woman with the purse said , "no, we are open". I then turned my attention to the woman behind the counter and asked about doing a piece with my kids. I was told by the woman behind the counter (the non purse holding woman) that I wouldn't be able to get the piece back for 12-14 days. This wouldn't work for me, as I wanted to have it done the next week. I politely said "oh, ok that won't work, I need it next week, thanks". I started walking backwards towards the glass doors to get out of the store. I struggled with the door and the stroller (with 2 kids in it) trying to get out. The woman with the purse and the woman behind the counter both just stood there and watched me. I couldn't believe they would treat a customer that way. After I got out of the store, I turned back to look at them, and the woman holding the purse gave me a dirty look. I was pieved at this point and went home to call to speak to an owner/manager. I called the next day and left a message with an employee who was very sweet (she has an accent) and appologized and said she would get the message to the manager. I also went on the Color Me Mine website and filled out a survey. I left the areas blank that didn't pertain to my experiece, such as the quality of the products, the bisque and whatnot, as I haven't done a project there. Today, October 26th, I recieved a call from the manager. She first told me she wasn't sure how I could have a problem, as I am not a customer there. Then she said that my survey I did "single-handedly brought their ratings down". Right then and there I knew she was more concerned about customers who have spent money already, not potential customers, and her so called "rating rank". I explained again what happened, and found out it was she that was the one who was holding the purse that day and gave me the dirty look. Her reason was because she had recently (that day or the day before) had surgery and j"just wanted to get out of there". She did appologize, but her attitude seemed as though I was the one who was in the wrong. My question is why are you there if you just had surgery, and why wouldn't you defer me to another employee who is feeling well enough to talk to a customer without dirty looks and a hurried manner? Why as a manager, seeing a potential customer leaving, would you not have your employee help open the door for me. I didn't say I would never go and do a project there, it just wasnt the right timing for me at that time, for the gift I wanted to give. I was planning on coming back to do some things there for Christmas gifts, and do them well in advance. I don't feel my conversation was effective on the phone with the manager. She had the same attitude on the phone as in person. She appologized, but only after she made it clear that I wasn't a customer, so she didn't really care. And rather than appologizing and saying, you know what, I was wrong, I'm so sorry, please come back we'd love to have you, blah blah blah....nope, she said I'm sorry and maybe you should try the place on International Airport Road. So she obviously doeesn't want me as a customer. Then further in the conversation she said "well we'd love to have you, but it sounds like the other business would be a better fit for you". So I suggest not taking your business there, to a place who don't value customers or potential customers. This is NOT the way to do business!!! The owner made a comment to my review on Yelp. She lied again, and my review on this site mysteriously keeps disappearing!

The owner recently rebuttled my statement on yelp, telling ball faced lies, I suggest you read her comments on yelp.
