Families can explore the people, stories and places that made Colorado and the American West what it is today - from its earliest inhabitants to its pioneer families - at the
Colorado History Museum, where exhibits, dioramas, photographs, and artifacts give visitors a taste of life and culture in the
old American West.
The exhibits and programs are great for kids ages six to 12 while younger kids can enjoy tooling around the big mining equipment and covered wagon. The larger-than-life bronze bison on the museum plaza is also a hit with kids of all ages.
Every Saturday, the museum hosts

Second Saturday of the month for a complete family-focused day that includes a guided tour, special guests and performances, and fun activities. Check the

Note: As the museum prepares for its March 2010 move to 12th & Broadway, it offers free admission for the remainder of its tenure in the building, since many exhibits have begun to be dismantled.
