Colorado Mountain Ranch is a classic summer day camp, offering an array of traditional as well as innovative outdoor camp activities. Personalized instruction is geared to individual ability levels.
Regular programs include horses, mountainboarding (a cross between skateboarding and snowboarding - without the snow), swimming, team-building, ropes course challenges, arts and crafts, Native American Indian lore, gymnastics and trampoline, archery, nature, outdoor living skills, sustainability, and traditional games and sports.
CMR also offers focus programs where campers spend time in one area for a half-day each day. Focus camp themes include horses, gymnastics and trampoline, swimming, mountainboarding, trail blazers, sustainability, and CIT's (Counselor-in-Training for teenagers). Overnight programs (typically one or two nights per week) are also offered - although the camp is primarily a day camp.
Campers are picked up in Boulder each morning and taken, by bus, to the ranch located about ten miles west of Boulder near Gold Hill. The bus returns to Boulder each evening at 5pm.
The public is also welcome to take advantage of the camp's amenities: horseback riding, mountainboarding, and rope courses can be arranged for individuals and groups by reservation.
