It's a zoo, it's a play park, it's a waterpark...it's all three! No wonder children and their families are wild about it!
The
Columbus Zoo & Aquarium provides a home for more than 700 wildlife species on 90 acres. The zoo - including the pachyderm building, the world's largest exhibit of its kind - is open year 'round.
Jungle Jack's Landing is a separate area featuring more than a dozen rides, including a small roller coaster, spinning "tea party," and a log flume ride. Check the website for minimum height requirements for the rides - most are 36 to 44 inches.
Zoombezi Bay is a 22.7-acre (outdoor) water park, where visitors can enjoy 15 water slides, a wave pool, lazy river ride, and a kiddie play pool. The water park is open May through September.
The zoo's education staff offers a variety of
seasonal camp programs for kids and families, including
summer day camps for students entering first through seventh grade. Early registration for the seasonal programs begins in February.
