Restored in 1972, Colvin Run Mill is an award-winning restoration and a Virginia landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
It offers daily tours, educational programs, special events, and outdoor concerts. The mill itself still operates on a regular basis. You can picnic on the grounds, feed the ducks, and learn about America's technological roots.
Also on the grounds is the Colvin Run Mill General Store. It offers penny candy, freshly ground cornmeal and wheat flour, and an array of old-fashioned goods.
Birthday parties: Younger children (3-5 years) take a trip to the mill and watch a puppet show. Older children (6-12 years) explore the mill with a guide. Call for more details.

getting there:
Beltway Exit 47A (Leesburg Pike, Rt. 7) west 5 miles past Tyson's Corner to right on Colvin Run Road. Left turn into paved parking lot 500 feet beyond gravel drive to mill.
