Conner Prairie is an "Interactive History Park" that provides an opportunity for families to engage, explore, and discover what it was like to live and play in Indiana's past.
After a trip to the Museum Center, kids can live the farm life in 1886 Liberty Corner, walk in the shoes of a pioneer in 1836 Prairietown, meet baby animals and tour the historic Conner Homestead, and strike a deal with the fur trader at the Lenape Indian Camp.
The high point (literally) is the 1859 Balloon Voyage, a 10-15 minute ride that gives visitors a bird's eye view of the landscape below. Tickets are $15/person; advance reservations are required.
Classes in pottery, spinning, and blacksmithing are offered frequently, and the Prairie Tykes workshops for kids ages two to five provide monthly activities for preschoolers.
