A workout facility that keeps everyone in the family occupied with activities, the Coppell Aquatic and Recreation Center has a lot to offer.

For the kids, the pool schedule offers swimming lessons year round. The big draw is the huge indoor slide. Operating hours, however, vary seasonally, so call before heading out.

The smaller fish in your family can enjoy the kiddie pool, complete with shooting water and overhead buckets. This pool is less than a foot deep and is perfect for those just wanting to splash and play. The indoor pools are open year round.

The rec center also features a complete workout facility and a basketball gym. Several group exercise classes are offered.

During the summer months, the outdoor pools are a gathering place for families. Three separate pools offer a cool playground retreat in the Texas heat. Complete with powerful water guns and a jungle gym, the kiddie pool depth ranges from one to three feet. Remarkably, this pool continues to have the coolest water temperature, even in August.

The jumbo slide and adjoining pool, with a challenging rope and inflatable mushroom course, are geared for the older kids. There is a height restriction for the slide.

Convenient family restrooms, large enough for changing clothes, are located at both pool sites, indoor and outdoor.

This isn't just a Coppell gathering place. Folks from neighboring cities have discovered this attraction as a great outing for the family. You don't have to be a member to visit the Aquatic Center. A 20-punch pass card can be purchased, or you can simply sign up for a one-day pass.

Annual family memberships are available for Coppell residents and non-residents.

Birthday parties are popular here and include up to 20 children. The package includes cake, themed paper goods, balloons, and a party assistant. Available party activities include swimming, soccer, basketball, in-line hockey, gymnastics, wacky gym games, or bounce house. Parties are scheduled on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons.

Camp Do It All is a popular day camp offered during the major school breaks at Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, and summer. Catered to kids ages six to 12, activities include swimming, movies, field trips, and arts and crafts. This is a popular camp, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas, so call early to reserve a spot.
