Corner Bakery Cafe is a chain restaurant that serves sandwiches, soups, salads, scramblers, pastas, and highly tempting baked goods. Breakfast, with the exception of the oatmeal, is served all day.
Food can be ordered to go, but once you're inside this warm, inviting cafe, you'll probably want to stick around to enjoy your meal. Free Wi-Fi makes this the perfect little spot to settle in and get some work done during your kid-free time, or bring the kids along and have them try out the kids' menu, where they can choose a PB&J sandwich, grilled cheese, ham sandwich, turkey sandwich, or noodles (with a choice of marinara or cream sauce). The kids' meals also come with fruit or a cookie, and organic milk or a soft drink. Additionally, sandwich selections are accompanied by chips or baby carrots, and a pickle. Grab a kids' menu and crayons as you come in. The kids' menu doubles as an activity book, giving kids something to do while the food is prepared.
As for adult menu items, we were stunned by the varieties of breads on which the sandwiches are served. Sure, you can get white bread, but with other selections like asiago cheese bread, poblano cheese bread, ciabatta ficelle, steakhouse rye, whole grain harvest, sourdough, caraway rye, and pretzel bread, why would you? Some sandwich selections we particularly like include the D.C. Chicken Salad, the Turkey Frisco, the Tomato Mozzarella, and the California Grille Panini.
As you come in the door, you walk past a row of freshly baked cakes and breads. These are incredibly hard to resist, especially after you taste the food and realize what you'll be missing out on should you neglect to purchase these and take them home. The restaurant also offers catering for small and large gatherings.
