We stopped in after having lunch and just loved the store. Bought the recliner chairs for my son and he just can't live with out them now. The employees were very helpful and I'm just not use to people being that nice.

My husband and I love Cradle and Crayon. We have purchased many items for our son and gifts for others as well. The service is great and all questions are graciously answered. Thank you for opening such a super store!

I think the negative reviewer below must've been having a bad day when she wrote that. I've shopped here several times and have found something new and unique each time. I've even found some incredible bargains for my son on their sale rack. Two, high end button down shirts in size 4T for $14 a piece on sale! The quality was far nicer than anything at an R-Us, and the ladies were so helpful in looking for other bargain nice clothes for my little guys. Their nursery decor items are just adorable, and quite unique. I wish they were here when I decorated the nursery years ago! I enjoy coming in here and look forward to being a long-time customer.

I read the few comments below and it's interesting but the negative comments from the one person below seemed to take root more so than all of the other positive comments that the other reviewers had written. I guess that's just human nature. Anyway, my hubbie and I happened to be in Reston having dinner and thought we'd stop by - I was well and truly impressed. I'm not one to even bother to write these kinds of reviews but that feeling I had of only thinking of the negative things made me want to address that here. If I were you, I would go and take a look at this store yourself. The owner I think is Stella and what she has created is something I haven't seen before. It's a kid related store that manages at the same time to be cozy, cool, hip, warm, inviting and just plain fun. The atmosphere is totally of a neighborhood store where you get to know the people and they get to know you. I saw a number of people come in and start talking to Stella like she was an old friend. She was warm and generous with her time and did not push anyone to buy anything. But people did and I think it's because the atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly. They don't have everything from everyone - it's not Target - but they had a great selection of items in each category and we spent pretty freely because I frankly haven't seen alot of the things they carry before. Also a lot of what they sell is in catalogs so if you don't see something ask for a catalog. That goes especially with the furniture - being a mom and pop, they don't have the space of the mega stores to display it all. Anyway, that's enough from me except to say that I can't tell enough people about this store. It is just so refreshing to find such a great individual store as compared to the old Mc'stores that are the same everywhere. Check it out yourself for sure.

I have been in this store a few times, I believe I talked to the husband of the owner (not positive!!) and they are so with it. It seems like they're focused on carrying quality merchandise instead of high-end merchandise. Some of the items are pretty pricey, and some of them are extremely reasonable. Be sure to check them out if your shopping for strollers, you wont find row after row of Graco and you can try the strollers out in a realistic shopping environment.

...thought everyone was super and very helpful. Really neat stuff that you can't find in just any store. The Duc Duc cribs are amazing and the bedding selection was great. The clothing was wonderful and really worth for the price.

I went to this store recently based on what I had read and heard and was very happy with what I found. The women that work there helped my mom and I for almost an hour while we asked a million questions about their cribs, nursing chairs, bedding, strollers etc etc. I also went there because I had heard from a friend that they carried very high quality things which I want because I am tired of Babies R Us and Target. The surprise was that they had lots of things at great prices. I was expecting everything to be expensive and a few items were but then that is what you expect at a boutique. I ended up buying things - actually more so mom than me :-) - that were very well priced and the clothing is some of the nicest I have seen for kids in the DC area. Again, I think if you go in expecting Babie R Us pricing (and quality) for everything then you will be disappointed. If however, you want really nice things at what I think are very reasonable prices, then you should go to this store. I should add that I am a working mom and by no means of the sort that does not worry about money. Another thing that just occurred to me was the reactions of people who were obviously regulars at the store. I heard so many people come in and just start to gush about the store that I was very impressed. One or two I could dismiss but this happened with so many people that it really made an impression on me. I would say to you to go back to the store and give them another chance. I have been back several times since and I have always had the same very positive experience.

I was more than disappointed with this store. The women working there were not very friendly and I was very disappointed in the selection. This may be my fault because based on the other reviews I was expecting much much more. The things in this store are also extremely expensive most clothing sells for about $50 a piece. Its worth checking out once but don't expect to much.

Wow! I was blown away by this store. It just opened and carries the best selection of just great stuff I've seen in the DC area. The selection varies from elegant maternity wear, european style kids clothing, gear (lots of it along with a daddy area with flat screen tv and comfy chairs), very high quality and beautiful babies and children's furniture such as cribs, beds armoires, nursing chairs etc, really cool toys (they had a replica of a 1957 Ferrari (sp?) pedal race car that my husband almost bought for himself!), gift items and a hundred other things I can't remember now. The service was also outstanding - the owner's husband personally delivered a gift for me when it became apparent that the gift would arrive after Christmas if we tried to fedex it! Check this store out - it is my new favorite store in DC.
