Cricket's Creamery & Caffe offers breakfast all day; sandwiches, salads, and soups made with fresh, quality ingredients; a full slate of coffee and espresso drinks; baked goods; and ice cream and gelato.

The food is plenty yummy, but what catches our eye as soon as we walk in the door is the absolutely endearing atmosphere. Bright, colorful decor with artwork on the walls and tchotchkes galore. A mini-sized picnic-style table for kids. A tray of crayons and a rack of kids' books. An almost-irresistible, red-cushioned couch.

The only slight drawback for parents is that there's no kids' menu, per se. So you won't find the usual suspects such as chicken fingers or hot dogs. But the main menu does include a pb&j sandwich and grilled cheese (warning for finicky wee ones: bread options are sourdough or multigrain), as well as waffles, French toast, and scrambled eggs. And, of course, there's always the ice cream.
