The Crowne Plaza Ravinia is located close to major highways GA-400 and I-285 and just across the street from Perimeter Mall, close to a MARTA stop. But once inside, it feels (happily!) like it's far away from Atlanta traffic. A lush, green lobby with a greenhouse atrium, fish pond, and waterfalls greets families. Beyond the lobby, a Japanese walking garden offers plenty of outdoor seating and water features - a beautiful spot for breakfast or lunch. The hotel is large - 495 guestrooms and 33 suites, an indoor pool, whirlpool, and three on-site dining spots - but the staff creates a more intimate atmosphere. We saw parents juggling plates at a breakfast buffet quickly assisted by a waiter, and housekeeping requests were met in record time - with a smile. Rooms are clean, attractively decorated, and large enough to easily accommodate a crib or rollaway bed without making the area too crowded. The hotel also features the Sleep Advantage program, which includes lavender room spray (which for us, doubled as "good dreams/no nightmares spray!), a sleep CD, and relaxation techniques. Sony PlayStation games are available in-room. Self-parking is available in a covered garage, or valet for a nightly fee. Two shuttles are available for transportation from the hotel. A public airport shuttle is $32 one way and $60 round trip. A complimentary local shuttle runs within a three-mile radius of the hotel, and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A family package starts at $99 per night, and includes a complimentary in-room family rated movie and popcorn, and families needing a little more elbow room can add on a second room for just $69 a night.
