This enormous picnic area, located near the center of Griffith Park, contains enough picnic tables, seating, and outdoor grills for 1500 people - more than enough for most birthday parties!
For more intimate affairs, you can reserve a small part of it, and enjoy one of the Park's nicest areas, with pleasant green lawns and enormous shady trees. Children can slide down the slides or swing on the swings in the Crystal Springs playground. Relatively clean bathrooms are nearby, and there is plenty of free parking.
The Crystal Springs Ranger Station handles all questions and reservations. The weekends are booked weeks in advance, so reserve early.
