Dallas Shoe Warehouse, or DSW, carries shoes for women size six and up, and sizes eight and up for men. Although there's no children's section per se, we've found once a kid's feet have outgrown the children's section so - in most cases - has the kid.

For that reason, we shop DSW because we find the selection of brand-name, stylish footwear appeals especially to girls (tweens and up) and the prices, generally much lower than department stores, appeal to parents.

Offering locations in 37 states, there's probably one (almost) close enough to walk to...if you're wearing your walking shoes.
