Escape the hullabaloo of
Lake Eola Park and instead take a short drive to
Delaney Park. One of Orlando's oldest parks, the location makes it a hot spot for area moms, while its proximity to downtown provides travelers (with a decent sense of direction) a nice escape from city life. The park has a nice mix of shade from old oaks, but also enough
open room for a good game of kick ball or some kite flying. Well-kept baseball fields take up a large corner of the park, and there are plenty of
picnic areas around. The most visited section is the
fenced-in playground featuring a number of jungle gym sets for kids of all ages.
Tiny tots can even horse around on small teeters or slide to their hearts content on mini-playsets. Water fountains and restrooms are also on site.
