The 389-seat Delaware Theatre Company, located on Delaware's Christina Riverfront, offers a broad range programming that includes a mix of the classics as well as contemporary plays and musicals. Quality family shows are provided through a partnership with the First State Children's Theater Company. The theatre also provides award-winning education and outreach programming that includes the Delaware Young Playwrights Festival (a state-wide playwriting contest for middle and high school-aged students that culminates in professional productions of three winning scripts), theatre classes for children and adults, and a popular summer theatre camp, Summer on Stage. Free show tickets for teenagers are available through DTC's Bring-a-Teen program, designed to foster an understanding and appreciation for live theatre among young people. Every adult that purchases a regularly priced ticket can receive one free ticket to bring a teen (ages 13 to 19) to the performance. Tickets can be purchased in person at the box office (with the teen present) no earlier than 30 minutes prior to the performance.
