DAM offers spring break and summer day camps, as well as arts-related classes and workshops, all beginning for children as young as four.
Family Backpacks are available Saturdays from 10:30am-4pm, and Sundays from 12n-4pm. The portable fun bags are packed with gallery games and activities, and give parents great ideas for ways to interactively introduce kids to the world of art. Pick one up near Kids Corner on the first floor. The packs are available every weekend and daily during spring and winter breaks and summer vacation.
The Hotspots program is offered on weekends and is free with museum admission. Try your hand at Navajo weaving or hold a real samurai sword - just two examples of the varied Hotspots, great for both kids and adults.
Architecture View-Master Game in the Duncan Pavilion invites guests to sleuth out unusual buildings and interesting details with the cool new View-master!
The Just For Fun Family Center (first level) lets kids dress up like an owl, play a Japanese memory game, and join in much more hands-on fun.
Don't miss the various games and activities in the galleries. The North Building has Eye Spy games, the Discovery Library, and the puzzle pot, while the Hamilton Building offers a musical exploration of Africa and a special kids nook, Wild Western games, Chinese Animal Eye Spy, and the Oceanic sculpture puzzle.
